Periodically test smoke alarms by pushing their test buttons every month and replacing batteries every year or as suggested. Check fire extinguishers for pressure, expiration dates, and visible damage; exchange or maintain them when necessary. Practice extinguisher use by the PASS method: Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep.
