To recover a Venmo payment sent to the wrong person or by mistake, follow these steps:
Request a Return:
- Open the Venmo app.
- Find the payment in your feed.
- Tap the payment, then tap "Request" and enter the amount you sent, asking the recipient to return it.
Contact Venmo Support:
- Go to the Venmo app.
- Tap the menu (☰) > "Get Help" > "Contact Us."
- Select "Payment Issues" and explain your situation.
Bank Action:
- If the recipient doesn't respond, contact your bank to dispute the transaction as a last resort.

- Avoid scams by acting locally or paying with PayPal
- Never pay with Western Union, Moneygram or other anonymous payment services
